Denise Marotta Lopes
Denise Marotta Lopes is a daughter of the King, a woman who is loved by her heavenly Father. It is her joy to be a wife, and mother of two grown children, and to serve those whom God brings into her life. It is her heart's desire to see people so consumed by the love of God that they pour out onto others, and are set free to walk out their destinies. She has written a book titled "Who's Sitting on Your Nest? The Virtues of Stay-at-Home Motherhood". It focuses on the joys of stay-at-home motherhood, and the benefits of a life invested in this ministry. The book was written to affirm those who have chosen to mother full-time and to encourage those who may be considering the call to do so. It takes the reader through the decison-making process, the value of motherhood, and the practical aspects of carrying out the mission. Denise is an avid lover of Jesus, dedicated intercessor, author, teacher, and speaker.

Where Did The Summer Go?

by Denise Marotta Lopes

There is something about the first day of August that causes some to ask, "Where has the summer gone?" It's almost as though a transition takes place in the brain as one begins to consider fall fashions and back-to-school supplies. Perhaps it's the commercials on TV, or displays in department store windows that suggest packing away the bathing suits and beach chairs.

I am here to officially announce that summer is not over. It is still warm out. The pool has not been drained. Shorts are still acceptable. And there is time to do the things you want before the weather turns cooler. Make it a point today to get out and enjoy the fair, go to the beach, have a picnic, or whatever else you'll wish you had done when the summer really does come to an end.

When I was homeschooling my now-grown children, we were able to continue with outdoor adventures while the neighborhood children went to school. Don't let society's calendar dictate your activities. Allow your children to dance in a warm rain shower. Take a book to the creek and read on a rock. Make a pot of soup on a 90 degree day. Live life freely and fully, no matter what time of year. Don't be influenced by the calendar. Summer's not over. Be blessed.
