I am a homeschool mom with six children.
If you don't want morning sickness, I know of an easy fix: fast for a week before conception. Yep, that will nip it. I have done this a couple of times, and it was well worth the fast. Morning sicknesss was completely nonexistent for me with those pregnancies. The reason that this works (I read) is because your body gets rid of all the toxins during early pregnancy, which is the reason for the morning sickness (a mom's body trying to protect and care for her baby from early on). If you get rid of the built-up toxins in your body beforehand, then you won't get sick. Again, fast for a week before conception and no morning sickness. Pretty neat, huh? Isn't God is sooo good? There is more information (materials can be purchased) about this through The Institute of Basic Life Principles out of Oak Brook, IL.

Just a regular food fast with only water. IBL has materials on this that my aunt gave me so I am not sure. I would inquire with them. Their materials are great with scripture references and bible connections to good health. This is just one thing they mentioned with pages of testimonies. Others like me found that you can have four pregnancies with a lot of sickness but if you fast the week before conception you won't have to deal with the sickness. I did it for two or three preganancies. It really works.

what kind of fast do they suggest?

This is really fascinating! I have not heard of this one before. What materials from the IBLP talk about this? Do you have a link you could share?

Next week I get to go home to Hawaii to see my mom. I’m so excited! I know it’s special for her to see me pregnant, and she has so much wisdom to share. It will be a long flight from Denver, so I’m planning with extra care.
